It has occurred to me that hashexeter.net has been laying fallow for a while, each of us having our own separate ‘blogs and online journals. We even missed the 2006 census! Awaken, #exeter! Our time is now!

Unlike the standard census where you have to wait 10 years before the census results can be published, the #exeter annual census results are available every Christmas! If you haven’t had chance to send your entry to me and you would like to take part, there is still time to be added! View the instructions on the previous census post and email to me.

Christmas is coming and #exeter always celebrate in style.

Several people have signed up for the Christmas party meal which is being organised by dunos. Check the #exeter forum for details of where to go when and if you haven’t already booked yourself in you will have to speak very nicely to dunos because a booking has already been made.

I have upgraded Wordpress, the program that runs the news pages, and I have deleted the wiki.

While the wiki was a fantastic idea it had two problems:

1. It was being spammed to death
2. It didn’t actually hold much information or get much new stuff being added to it

Therefore I have removed it and replaced it when a set of pages containing the #exeter specific knowledge.

I will probably upgrade this template at some point too so that it isn’t so… default.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed. Here are the results of the census. They are in no order of importance, just the order in which i received them (so you can see who needed some persuasion hahaha!) Entries are pretty much copy and paste to show your beautiful individuality. All i’ve done is make bold your names for easy reading.

As it is Christmas coming up, I thought it would be a nice exercise to have a #exeter “update” of some sort.

I have recently found that although i speak to people frequently on #exeter, i have failed to establish where they are living these days and what exactly they are up to. Now that the channel has grown considerably, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep a track of these things!

To register yourself in the #exeter census, there is no need to travel to your original birthplace like in the nativity story. You just need to click the ‘more’ button…and yes, it is about time i found out about the ‘more’ button isn’t it!!

Did you know that #exeter now has a Wiki? You will find a link to it on the menu bar.

A Wiki is a bit like an online collaborative encyclopaedia. Anyone can signup for an account and edit pages. It lets you define your world, or in this case #exeter.

Feel free to add entries and edit stuff in it!
